Centering Prayer

facilitated by Sr. Jo-Ann Jackowski, sfp

We often think of prayer as thoughts or feelings expressed in words, but this is only one expression of prayer. Centering Prayer is a method of prayer that enables one to become quiet enough to sit in awareness of God's Presence. It is a prayer of choice, not of words.

Every Tuesday
3:30pm - 4:00pm

This opportunity is housed in the Peace Center

Please contact Sr. Jo-Ann for more information:

Spirituality of  Struggle

presented by Sr. Joanne Schuster, sfp

This presentation will help us deal with unexpected change were you have no control and how to manage the pain and the suffering of life.

Recognizing the transformation process that can lead from experiences such as these to hope is essential for all of us, and is a primary theme addressed in every major religion. Identifying and honoring our emotions during times of deep sorrow and pain can be truly helpful to understand how to find meaning in the struggle.

We will spend our time together reflecting on the above hopefully to enable our own personal healing.

Mindfullness Meditation

presented by Rabbi David Burstein

Mindfulness meditation is unique in that it is not directed toward getting us to be different from how we already are. Instead, it helps us become aware

of what is already true moment by moment.

We could say that it teaches us how to be un-conditionally present; that is, it helps us be present with whatever is happening, no matter what it is. Rabbi David will help us go deeper into the practice of Mindfulness Meditation.

Rabbi Burstein is a father and a husband who is trying to live a more spiritual and mindful life.

Trained in Jewish mysticism and peace and conflict work, David brings a gentle presence to the practice of mediation.
